Meeting Point: Camperdown Memorial Park (corner Mary and Lennox Sts, Newtown)
Duration: 3 hours
Newtown plays host to a huge mix of award-winning food stops with so much variety, it's almost impossible to pick out the cream of the crop. We’ve tried and tested, and brought together the best venues out there to give you the ultimate Newtown Food experience.
Filled with great pubs, restaurants, and cafes, this tour will lead you through thriving King Street, visiting several establishments, and tasting sweet and savoury samples along the way.
Hear from each of the venue’s passionate owners about how their establishment came to be, including a discussion on the cronut revolution, and a taste of the most photographed cake in Australia!
This safari also takes you through Camperdown Memorial Park where your host will speak about the history of Newtown regarding its settlement, timeline for development, and current funky persona.
While there's never a dull moment in Newtown, you will also have the opportunity to pass the colourful Newtown markets, as well as other iconic landmarks.
There will be some walking involved so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it. This tour caters for vegetarians.

Really interesting. We had not expected the tour to be so informative on the history of Newtown. We loved being introduced to the eateries which we would have just walked past without even noticing them. Karyn was an excellent guide. 4/5 by Damaris Patterson 28-7-2018

The tour was really interesting - particularly the history of the Newtown area and some of the places that we stopped at along the way. All of the food stops were good. There was quite a variation in styles along the way. The pub at the end was a good place to finish (particularly if you like to have a beer). 4/5 by Peter Quiggin 20-5-2017
